Zero Formaldehyde
Our engineered wood flooring has been independently tested by SGS in accordance with both the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Phase 2 standards and the U.S. EPA TSCA Title VI requirements. The results confirm that under the test item “Formaldehyde Emission”, the finding was ND (Not Detected), meaning no measurable formaldehyde emissions were present. The product successfully passed all regulatory limits, providing assurance of safety and compliance. Furthermore, the wood used in this flooring originates from France, underscoring our commitment to quality materials and healthy living environments.

Both of our Engineered and SPC Floorings are formaldehyde free.

CARB Phase 2 Compliance
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) measures and restricts the amount of toxins released into the air. Formaldehyde is one of the many toxins covered by this board. The CARB Phase 2 certification signifies that the product releases a low enough amount of formaldehyde to be considered safe. Any formaldehyde released by products with a CARB Phase 2 Compliant seal is a small enough amount that it has absolutely no risk to your health.

EPA TSCA Title VI Compliance
Required standard by the laws of the United States of America. Since 1976, the US authorities created the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), which gives the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) the power and responsibility to control any of the substances determined to cause an irreparable risk to the public health or the environment. The TSCA Title VI standard seeks to ensure that wood products sold, delivered, offered for sale, imported, or manufactured in the United States comply with the regulation’s parameters. The standard requires an entity outside the manufacturer to audit and certify the formaldehyde emissions of the products mentioned above are within the allowed levels.

LACEY Act Compliance
The Lacey Act (16 U.S.C. 3371 et seq., the Act) as amended makes it unlawful to import, export, transport, sell, receive, acquire, or purchase in interstate or foreign commerce any plant, with some limited exceptions, taken or traded in violation of the laws of the United States, a U.S. State or a foreign country. The Lacey Act combats illegal trafficking of wildlife, fish, and plants. It is against the law to import into the United States any illegally harvested plant or plant product, and certain products require a declaration.

Greenguard® Gold Certification
The GREENGUARD® Gold Certification Standard includes health-based criteria for additional chemicals and requires lower total VOC emissions levels to ensure that products are acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities. In addition to limiting emissions of more than 360 VOCs and total chemical emissions, UL GREENGUARD Gold Certified products must also comply with the requirements of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Standard Method for the Testing and Evaluation of Volatile Organic Chemical Emissions from Indoor Sources Using Environmental Chambers, also known as California Section 01350.
All certified products are subject to a review of the manufacturing process and routine testing to demonstrate minimal impact on the indoor environment in the long period.
